Chen Yue

Chen Yue entered The China Conservatory of Music in 1993, where she became a full student in 1996. In 2000, she became the first gradua- te student in Chinese history to major in flute. She studied under such famous professors such as Mr. Zhao Songting, Mr. Zhang Weiliang and Mr. Jiang Guoji.

She finished her Master’s Degree in 2003 and became a flute teacher at The China Conservatory of Music. She is also member of The Traditional Wind Instruments Institution of The China Musicians’ Association, The China raditional Wind & String Music Institution and also vice-secretary of The China Flute Majors’ Institution.

Ms. Chen Yue has performed with various international and domestic orchestras, touring extensively in Asia, Europe, Latin America and USA. She was also invited to perform at numerous events organized by television and radio broadcasters across China.

In 1997, she performed at the Live Evening Party celebrating Hong Kong’s return to China, and in 2001, 2002 and 2004 she played at the China New Year’s Eve Party. She also played at the Olympic-themed show of The 2001 Beijing Culture Festival in Moscow. In 2002, she won the Second Prize of the Flute Major Group at the first China Youth Instrument Performance Contest organized by the Culture Bureau. That same year, she was invited to play a flute solo at the Sydney Opera House. A year later, she was invited to play for “2003 The Year of China” in France.

In 2004, Ms. Chen Yue played solo at Feng Zicun’s 100th Birthday Memorial Concert. That same year, she attended the European Art Festivals in Ireland and Latvia. In 2005 she performed as the representative of China at The 2005 Beijing Week of Chinese Culture Festival in Washington.

In 2006 she joined the tour with The China National Symphony Orchestra in the United States and Japan, and she attended the 20th Macau International Music Festival and the Modern Music Concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of The China Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2007,she established and participated a music group of chamber music,called “Yue Se Ling Lan”.

In 2007, Chen Yue was invited to Denmark to have concerts with Michala Petri and Lass Hannibal who are the most famous Recorder and Guitar player of Denmark. In 2007 and 2008, She had performances at MIDEM that held in Cannes.

Ms. Chen Yue has released many albums, such as “Bamboo Love”, “Song without Lyrics”, “Color of Flute”, “Red·Piano Impromptu”,”Spirit-East meats West” and “Chinese Euphony”. She has also written essays on the relationship between Zhao Songting’s flute compositions and the Wu Opera, as well as the flute culture in the Tang and Song Dynasties.
