Orhan Salliel
Orhan SALLIEL born in a musician family in 1968 in Turkey. Studied Bassoon
and composition&conducting in Istanbul (1980-1990)
and made his diploma. Later he went to Holland studied
Conducting&Composition with Arie van BEEK, Klaas de Vries in Rotterdam; also
in Amsterdam Conducting with Joop van ZON. From Amsterdam he received a
scholarship for Sibelius Academy to study with Jorma PANULA and Eri KLAS.
He has followed master classes from maestros like Ilya MUSIN, Valery GERGIEV
( in Chigiana); Karl Österreicher, Yuji YUASA (in Vienna).
In 1991 he went to study for 5 years in Holland with Arie van BEEK, Jos van der SÝJDE, Hans VRIESENand Joop van ZON. While in Holland he was granted a scholarship to study at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with conductors like Eri KLAS, Jorma PANULA, Atso ALMÝLA, Ilya MUSIN, H. Dieter Hauschild and Colin Meters. He then returned to Rotterdam where he got his diploma. In Holland he has conducted number of chamber orchestras and contemporary music ensembles.
After making diploma for conducting in Rotterdam, he went back to Finland
became director´s assistant of in Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival. After Having
conducted number of orchestras in Holland and Finland came back to Turkey in
1995.
He became conductor of Istanbul State Opera and Ballet conducted many works
like SALOME, MAHLER 8, AIDA, TURANDOT. After 5 years at 2000 he was
appointed as GMD in Bursa Region State Symph. Orch. (Bursa) and CRR Symph.
Orch. in Istanbul. In CRR he conducted years between 2000-2005; In Bursa
2000-2009. In theese 9 years he also conducted many orchestras in Turkey and
around the World (Mexico, China, Finland, Germany, Poland, Danmark,
Hungary, Uzbekistan, Spain etc.) and made world premiers of his
compositions.
He also composed an Opera, Oratorios, Ballets and Symphonies and made many
crossover projects including DVD and the CD recordings, TV programs.
Since the april 2009 he has been appointed as GMD of Antalya State Symphony
Orchestra.
