Oleg Yakerevich
Oleg Yakerevich had born in 1977 in Minsk (USSR). He started his piano studies at the age of 5 in The Central Music School of Minsk with Ms. Irina Polishuk.
In1990 he emigrated to Israel with his family. In Israel he continued his piano studies in Dunie-Weizman Conservatory in Haifa with Ms. Miriam Gorbonos and graduated from the music department at Wizo – Haifa.
Oleg served in Israel Defense Forces in the special unit of distinguished musicians.
At the Academy of Music in Jerusalem he completed his B.Mus, studying with Pr. Michael Boguslavsky and Pr. Benjamin Oren and in 2005 he completed with grand excellence his M.Mus studies at The Buchman-Mehta School of Music of Tel Aviv University in class of Pr. Emanuel Krasovsky. Now he studies in Germany with the pianist Pr. Matti Raekallio.
He took part in master classes with well – known artists as Murray Perahia, Stephen Bishop Kovachevich, Peter Frankl, Pnina Salzman, Leonard Hokanson, Walter Hautzig, Daniel Hoexter and the members of the Alban Berg Quartet.
Oleg performed as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber music player in Israel, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, USA, Canada etc.
He played as a soloist with an IDF Educational Corps Chamber Orchestra and with Haifa Youth Symphony Orchestra.
His concerts were broadcasted live by the Israeli Radio.
Oleg has been awarded a scholarships by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation since 1996, and has won prizes in several piano competitions: 1-St Prize in piano Competitions of Jerusalem Academy (1999,2001), 1-St Prize in Chamber Music Competition of Jerusalem Academy (2001), 1-St Prize in Chamber Music Competition of Buchman-Mehta School of music (2004) and the 2-ND Prize in The Ariana Katz Piano Competition in Tel Aviv (2005).
