ICHIRO SAITO

Mr. Ichiro Saito was born in Fukui, Japan in 1969. He learned piano and composition since early childhood. His first university education was in Tokyo university of liveral arts, where he majored in Musicology and Composition, but his heart stayed with conducting. Then he entered conducting course in Tokyo national university of fine arts and music(Geidai) in 1994 and graduated in1998.There he has studied under professor Masahisa Endo, Hiroyuki Iwaki, Hirosi Wakasugi ,Pavre Despalj.He appeared with Geidai Orchestra in various concerts in four years and in the year he graduated, he was selected one of best student who was allowed to make a concert to introduce young artist in Tokyo. He moved to Vienna and enrolled as a "gueststudent" at the Musikhochschule in Wien from 1998~2000, and studied under Leopord Hager,Ervin Acel and Yuji Yuasa.

In the summer in 1995, 1996 ,he was an assistant conductor at the Pacific Music Festival , which was founded by Leonard Bernstein in 1990 ,where he assisted for Maestro Christoph Esshenbach and Maestro Yutaka Sado .In October, 1996, he won a Special prize in International conducting competition "Dinu Nicrescu"in Rumania. He performed in a Award Winning Concert with "Dinu Lipatti Orchestra and a year later, he was invited to conduct in series of four concerts with the same orchestra . In November, 1997, he made a sensational debut in his home city Fukui in Japan, with the Osaka Century Orchestra conducting G. F. Handel "Messiah". This year, he took over an ailing conductor in a Gala Concert sponsered by Asahi Shinbun (most powerful newspaper in Japan) in Osaka Festival Hall in a two days notice.He has guest conducted following professional orchestra ,Osaka Century Orchestra, Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, Kansai Fillharmonie Orchestra , Kyusyu Symphony Orchestra, Japan Sinsei Symphony Orchestra,Osaka Fillharmony Orchestra and various other orchestras.In his staying inWien ,he has conducted Filhamonica de Stat Oradeain Rumania, Moravia State Orchestra in Cheko. Sinse Sep. 2000 ,He engaged ORCESTRA as assistant conductor.

There he spported Maestro Dutoit (MUSIC DIRECTOR) , Sawallisch Bromstedt (HONORARY CONDUCTOR LAUREATE) and other international guest conductors. He made a sensational debut in NHK symphony orchestra in 2002.
